Mr Michael Monteiro is a Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust. He qualified in dentistry (Guy’s 1996) and medicine (Wales 2000). After completing his Warwick and Worcestershire basic surgical training rotation (general surgery, orthopaedics, ENT, anatomy demonstrating), he completed his higher surgical training on the South Thames rotation (Guy’s, King’s, Guildford, Brighton). He obtained his FDS in 1996, MRCS in 2005 and FRCS (MaxFac) in 2008.
Having worked at three cancer institutes (Guy’s, Royal Surrey County Guildford and Royal Sussex County Brighton), he developed a subspecialty interest in head and neck malignancy and microvascular reconstruction.
