Professional Profile

Mr Alanbuki recently joined the urology department at the Brighton and Sussex NHS Trust as Consultant Urologist, with specialist interest in urinary upper tract oncology, stone diseases, minimally invasive prostate surgery, andrology and laparoscopy.

He has completed basic surgical training in the Northeast of England. Having gained broad experience in general surgery and urology, he then worked as a research fellow at the Barts and London University Hospitals working on the Reduction by Dutasteride of Prostate Cancer Events (REDUCE) trial.

He joined the Eastern deanery for higher surgical training programme in urology and received comprehensive training in diagnostic and therapeutic general urology. Moreover, he spent the last two years gaining sub-specialist training in endourology, laparoscopic kidney surgery and stone disease at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals.

His inquisitive nature and communication particularly listening and utilization of transferable skills would enable him to successfully and safely treat patients in the future and to be an advocate of high quality care, training issues and research projects. Applying evidence-based medicine in practice has inspired him to instigate his research project in the management of testicular tumours and awarded the degree of MSc. from Teesside University.

Mr Alanbuki has several publications and has actively participated in national and international meetings. This has improved his insight to this specialty and helped him improve the quality of care delivered to his patients.
