Brighton Fringe 2017 – ‘Over the Hill’ Exhibition

Date: 5th-26th May
Location: The Montefiore Hospital, 2 Montefiore Road, Hove, BN3 1RD

We are proud to announce that we will be displaying the exhibition ‘Over the Hill: A Photographic Journey’ for this year’s Brighton Fringe. ‘Over the Hill’ is a project created by Tim Andrews who, since after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, has been photographed by over 400 photographers between 2007 and 2016.

A collection of these photos will be displayed in our main reception area. This is a free, non-ticketing viewing available during our reception opening hours. A collection box will be available in the Reception area for the Brighton and Hove branch of the charity Parkinson’s UK.

Patient experience forum – Preparation for discharge

We would like to invite previous inpatients and day-case patients to join us at our next patient experience forum. We are passionate about involving patients in the improvement of our services and your ideas matter.

Our next forum will focus on the preparation for discharge as a patient at the hospital.

The forum will be hosted by members of the senior management team, within a relaxed atmosphere. We will provide you wish food and drink and hope that you can tell us what was good or not so good about your experience, while providing us with a patients’ perspective on ideas for improving our service.

Cosmetic open evenings

Are you thinking about having cosmetic surgery, but would like to find out more before booking a full consultation?

Then come along to one of our cosmetic events where you can have a free 15-minute mini consultation with one of our experienced Consultant Plastic Surgeons.

A free event which provides the opportunity to learn more about diagnosis and treatment of hip and knee problems. Come along and meet our Orthopaedic Hip and Knee Consultants and ask any questions that you may have.


Macmillan Cancer Support’s biggest fundraising event, ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’

The Montefiore Hospital holds a fundraising coffee and cake morning to support Macmillan Cancer Support’s ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’.

There is a delicious selection of cakes available, baked by our hospital staff and on-site catering team. We will also have a variety of teas, coffees and cold drinks to accompany these delights! No need to book, simply turn up at the hospital’s main reception on the day.

Osteoporosis information events

Presented by a Consultant Rheumatologist, learn more about diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis in an informal setting with the opportunity for questions.

Presented by Consultant Orthopaedic Shoulder and Elbow Specialists, learn more about diagnosis and treatment of common upper limb problems.

Skin Problems: Learn more about diagnosis and treatment

One of our Consultant Dermatologists will discuss moles, sun damage, skin cancer, and inflammatory conditions such as acne, psoriasis and eczema.
