I completed my medical training in Bristol and then undertook a PhD with the ICRF in London looking at experimental immunotherapy. Following this I trained in general medicine in London and then completed specialist training in Medical Oncology at the Royal Marsden, Hammersmith and Charing Cross Hospitals. Initially appointed as a Consultant Oncologist in Cardiff in 1998, I returned to Charing Cross Hospital in London in 2004 to help run the UK National Trophoblast Tumour service. Whilst working there I was also the lead clinician for testicular cancer, urology oncology, chemotherapy and acute oncology for the Imperial Hospitals and West London Cancer Network.
Following a recent sabbatical In Canada working for the BCCA in British Columbia, I have returned to the UK now combining clinical practice in Brighton and Haywards Heath with ongoing laboratory research in cancer immunotherapy, cancer gene therapy and basic cancer biology.
I have published over 120 papers on cancer research and clinical practice, hold a number of cancer related patents and work closely with the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries in cancer therapeutics.
Over the years I have gained extensive practical experience in urology oncology and gynaecology oncology and would be delighted to help in the care of patients with these diagnoses. I am also happy to see patients with rare tumours or other cancer types.
I am married with two young children and most of my time out of work is family time. I am also a keen former sportsman particularly interested in Tennis, Rugby and Football. I also enjoy tinkering with old cars and boats.
