Mr Cass originally qualified in 1991 at Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School. He then his my orthopaedic training from the North West Thames orthopaedic training scheme and later took on specialist training with the Spinal unit of the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore.
Mr Cass helped introduce revolutionary procedures and techniques to the South Coast, including anterior lumbar surgery, lumbar disc replacement, minimally invasive spinal surgery and vertebroplasty and maintains close ties with many other leading spinal surgeons around the UK.
Mr Michael Cass has now stepped back from performing open spinal surgery and is focusing on outpatient spinal care offering detailed consultations, diagnostic assessments, personalised non‑operative management plans, day‑case spinal procedures and independent second opinions.
If open surgery is required we can facilitate referral to an appropriate specialist surgical colleague. Where requested, Mr Cass can remain involved in your care, including follow‑up after surgery, to help guide rehabilitation and longer‑term management.
Mr Cass has a long‑standing reputation in Sussex and beyond for excellence in spinal diagnosis, clinical decision‑making and patient‑centred care. By stepping back from open surgery, Mr Cass is able to devote more time to thoughtful outpatient assessment and collaborative planning of the most suitable treatment for your condition.
