Since July 2012, Dr Maja Schaedel is a Visiting Lecturer on the Clinical Psychology Doctorate at Salomons, Canterbury Christ Church University where she teaches the programme in three separate strands – Health Psychology, Child Psychology & Ethnicity & Diversity.
She is Head of Psychological Therapies and Lead Clinical Psychologist at Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, since 2016. As the lead Clinical Psychologist, she works alongside leading Consultant Sleep Physicians, developing treatment protocols and offering leadership and supervision to other Psychologists.
In September 2019 she became Co-founder of The Good Sleep Clinic where she offers patients treatment for chronic insomnia and other sleep difficulties. The Good Sleep Clinic is jointly run alongside her sister, Dr Zoe Schaedel, GP & Sleep Specialist. They use a combination of medical and psychological expertise to offer evidence-based treatment to patients with sleep difficulties, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) & Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT).
