Today is International Nurses Day while we also celebrate ODP day! A day for us to celebrate our nurses and the fantastic work they do every day for our patients. Today we celebrate not only our nurse team, but all our colleagues as we all work together as one team, supporting and helping each other deliver our best.

Held annually on May 12, International Nurses Day commemorates the birth in 1820 of Florence Nightingale, the foundational philosopher of modern nursing. The event, established in 1974 by the International Council of Nurses (ICN), also serves to highlight the important role nurses fulfil in health care.

Rachel Dixon, Hospital Managing Director, and Lynette Awdry, Director of Clinical Services, distributed cupcakes around the hospital to help everyone celebrate this date and a few pictures were taken to help mark the event!
