Professional Profile

Dr Juliá Calvo has been a Consultant Cardiologist for 12 years and specialised in Cardiac arrhythmias for the last 11 years. He has trained in several prestigious international centres (Madrid -Spain, Brussels -Belgium, Milan - Italy and London) and finally decided to join our excellent Electrophysiology team at Brighton. He specialises in the management (including ablation) of all arrhythmias, with a main interest in atrial fibrillation and ventricular arrhythmias. Also trained in the use of intracardiac echocardiography, which allows me to ensure a higher degree of safety during my procedures.

Dr Juliá Calvo specialises in the management and ablation of all cardiac arrhythmias (supraventricular tachycardias, atrial flutter, atrial fibrillation, atrial and ventricular ectopic beats, as well as ventricular tachycardia).

To date, he performed over 3,000 ablation procedures.

In addition to his NHS practice, he regularly acts as a proctor, traveling to different European centres to train other Consultants to perform or improve their technique during complex ablations. In addition,  he also organises training workshops at Brighton where Consultants from Europe, Middle East and Africa come to learn and improve their practice.

Personal Profile

I do enjoy spending time with my family and friends and trying to improve my tennis. I do love dogs and travelling both back to my home town in Spain but also discovering new areas of the UK.
