Professional Profile
Mr Simon Bellringer grew up in London and studied at Imperial College School of Medicine, qualifying in 2011. He completed both basic and higher surgical training in Kent, Surrey and Sussex, completing his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons with a specialist interest in Trauma and Orthopaedics in 2021.
Following this, Mr Bellringer completed two years of upper limb and trauma fellowship in Adelaide, Australia and Kings College Hospital, London. He also completed his Diploma in Hand Surgery in 2023 and has been a consultant at University Hospitals Sussex in Brighton since 2023.
Mr Bellringer clinical practice encompasses all aspects of wand and wrist surgery. He has a particular interest in hand and wrist trauma, wrist arthroscopy (keyhole surgery) and wide awake local anaesthetic surgery.
He is currently his hand and wrist departments lead for research, audit, education and training.
Mr Bellringer is currently a lecturer at Brighton and Sussex Medical School and have a keen interest in research and training. He is currently involved in the design and supervision of clinical based academic research. In the last two years has published and presented research on variety of different hand, wrist, elbow and trauma conditions.
Personal Profile
In his spare time, Mr Bellringer enjoys keeping fit by cycling, playing rugby and spending time with his family and two young children on the South Downs.
