Our Consultant Allergists:
Allergy testing
Please note, we do not provide a generic allergy-testing/screening service at our hospital. All testing performed at our hospital requires a referral from your GP or consultant.
To confirm a diagnosis of allergy, the allergist will ask you a detailed personal medical history and the circumstances and presentation of your allergy symptoms. This is a very important first step as it informs the need for investigations, and which investigations are most appropriate in your case. Tests which we offer include:
- Blood testing
- Skin prick testing
- Patch testing.
We may ask for more information regarding your symptoms before booking you in for a consultation, as in some circumstances it may be more appropriate for you to see a different specialist for your symptoms, such as a dermatology, ENT, or gastroenterology consultant.
