Professional Profile
I specialise in complex disorders of the spine, and have worked in this field for many years. When I applied for higher level surgical training in neurosurgery via national selection, I obtained the only advanced level entry position that year. My time in London exposed me extensively to spinal neurosurgery, allowing me to hone my skills and confirming my ambition to be a complex spinal neurosurgeon. I therefore left training early after successfully applying for the highly competitive London spinal fellowship. This fulfilled the requirements to become a consultant, and allowed me to move directly to a position in Brighton.
I specialise in disorders of the spine, and routinely perform operations from simple decompressions to more advanced reconstruction work for tumours and trauma. Along the way I have also worked in more general medical fields, such as working as a flying doctor in Australia, surgical training in New Zealand, and closer to home working as a GP in Oxford. As such I bring a more holistic approach to spinal disorders. This puts me in an ideal position to work with patients, working together to establish and achieve goals of treatment.
My log book reflects nearly 2,000 operations to date.
